A pop-up/ spontaneous community gardens on urban fringe are becoming more and more popular, while agricultural land is decreasing due to urbanization in Hanoi City. Middle-aged women spontaneously use a vacant land for cultivation.
Vacant lands include a not-yet-built site, space on a river bank, street with climbing plants… These open spaces form social places for elderly people and productive cultivation. We can say that now we see emerging of ”productive landscape”.
